New project…

I want to put a body in this photo. If it were dynamically lit, I think it could be a really powerful, haunting image. Will try and get this project off the ground soon.

Scraping together some ideas for a shoot. This is a concept shot for a shoot with an old Ford that’s been in the family for years. Rather than moving it out if the shed, I figure I’ll just shoot it in there. Very rustic like. This shot was taken with my phone and is just to give an idea of the feel I’m thinking of.
Just giving everyone a heads up. I’m looking to make a little side money with the holidays coming up. If anyone has a potential photo gig they want me to work, feel free to email me with the details.
While I haven’t been shooting many models lately, I’ve been keeping myself somewhat in practice by doing other photography related projects. Aside from the stringer gig with the newspaper, I did a little bit of real estate photography for some friends who are looking to sell their house. Admittedly, I’m pretty new at the whole interior/exterior photography thing, but with help from a friend I don’t think they turned out too bad. Here’s a few of the shots we got. I hope it helps the house sell!

Update: This person’s profile has since been removed from MM. Good riddance.
“Stunned Photography” on Model Mayhem (#1953820) stunned myself and a few others today when we found out that she’s been using our photos in her portfolio! Apparently my photo has been in her profile since November of 2010. Not only was she too lazy to take her own photographs, but she didn’t even bother to remove my logo. Granted, I’m glad she didn’t, but… wow.
After being called on it by several people, including myself, she logged in and removed the photos. I will keep an eye on this profile in the future, and may even contact MM to log her I.P. in case she tries to create a new profile and do the same thing to someone else.
To Stunned Photography, should you happen to read this,
Not only are your actions illegal, but they are detrimental to the photography industry. It’s hard enough to get work as a model photographer, but when you are misrepresenting yourself to clients and models alike, you are damaging what little respect we do get. One brush with a shady photographer can be enough for some to turn away from us as a whole, or force restrictions upon us because of their previous experience. I can only hope that you learn a lesson from this, though I doubt it. If you had any portion of a brain you wouldn’t have pulled this stunt in the first place.
That is all.
Ok, so the trigger finger is getting a little itchy.
I think it’s time to shoot once again, but this time I’m going to get my idea and everything planned first, before I set a date and get a model. Somehow, it just works better when you already have the idea and location in mind. Go figure.
Anyways, I already have one model I owe a shoot, but if I can get something together worth a full day of shooting, obviously there’s going to be more than one involved. So keep checking the blog here, pretty soon I will have a description of the shoot and maybe I will be seeing you in the near future!
I’ve decided that instead of retiring from photography, i will limit myself to fewer shoots. Mainly, whenever i get the urge, or get a cool idea. No more shooting for the sake of shooting.
My second shoot of the day was with Rebecca. Having already been acquainted with the location, I was able to spend less time fiddling with light setups and more time shooting. We got in several different looks, and even got to have a little silly fun with the light bulb. Hope you like the shots! Special thanks to Delaney and Rebecca for driving all the way out to La Vernia to shoot with me!
